Coming Soon at Beoley Village Hall

Beoley Village Hall have a variety of events coming up over the next few weeks – details below.   In addition to our regular monthly “Trad” Jazz Evenings we are also showing the 1991 award winning film “The Commitments” on Friday 7th July.  It contains some great music and whether or not you have seen in previously it is well worth coming along – and the bar will be open as usual.
We also have an Open Day planned for Sunday 9th July, when everyone is invited to the Hall to see a variety of attractions and enjoy the day. Refreshments will be available, and the bar will be open.   We are always looking for one or two of additional volunteers to help us run the Hall so if you would consider volunteering a little of your time just let me know or speak to one of our committee on the day.

Monthly “Trad” Jazz Night “TAD NEWTON’S JAZZ FRIENDS” | Wednesday 28 June 2023
Beoley Jazz Club runs a monthly jazz night, featuring a variety of fantastic Jazz bands.

On the 28 June 2023, we have “TAD NEWTON’S JAZZFRIENDS with Gary Wood [trumpet/flugelhorn/vocals] Tad Newton [trombone/vocals] Mike Wills [clarinet/tenor sax/alto sax/soprano sax] Tomas Pedersen [ bass] Alan Haughton [piano] Ronnie Fenn [drums]“

TAD NEWTON’S JAZZFRIENDS – Established as one of the most respected and entertaining outfits on the British jazz scene, with their adventurous and eclectic repertoire gaining plaudits wherever they perform, headlining at numerous Jazz Festivals around the country. 2023 marks the band’s 40th anniversary!

“BASIN STREET TO HARLEM” A special concert dedicated to the great jazz influences, composers and players featured with jazz luminaries such as Louis Armstrong, Kid Ory, Earl Hines, etc.

This is a very welcome first time visit to Beoley for this ensemble, who always draw a big crowd. Some fantastic entertainment is guaranteed. Come and support live jazz and see a great band!

Village Cinema Night “THE COMMITMENTS” | Friday 7th July 2023
Following the recent successful tour of the musical Village Cinema @ Beoley Village Hall presents the 1991 award winning film based on a Roddy Doyle novel “The Commitments” 
Jimmy Rabbitte (Robert Arkins), a self-proclaimed promoter, decides to organize an R&B group to fill the musical void in his hometown of Dublin, Ireland. The band comes together but ends up consisting entirely of white musicians who have little experience with the genre. Even though their raw talent and lofty aspirations gain the group notoriety, the pitfalls of fame began to tear at their newfound friendships as they prepare for their big show.

Beoley Village Hall “Family Open Day” Sunday 9th July 2023
Beoley Village Hall Open Day is holding an Open Day on Sunday 9th July 10.00am to 4.00pm


Free Entry for everyone.

 

Why not come along and meet some of us and enjoy displays of Vintage & other Cars, Vintage Tractors and Stationary Engines. Displays & exhibitions of regular activity groups that use the hall will also be in attendance together with a Bouncy Castle for the children. Refreshments available and bar will be open.
