Wellbeing in Partnership E-Bulletin – Bromsgrove & Redditch – Update 45

Dear all,

Please find the latest information bulletin below.  (Please note: These bulletins are designed to replace our monthly e-newsletter for the time being.)

COVID Vaccinations – All adults can book NOW

COVID Testing – Rapid Lateral Flow Tests – for people who DO NOT have any symptoms

Everyone can access FREE regular rapid tests.  Regular, twice weekly rapid testing is encouraged, even if you have been vaccinated.  Around 1 in 3 people with COVID-19 do not have any symptoms.  Getting tested regularly finds hidden cases, ensuring you don’t pass it onto family members, friends or workmates.  If people test positive and self-isolate, it helps stop the virus spreading.

You can book at test, order online or simply pick up home testing at a range of local venues.  Your employer may also offer free rapid lateral flow testing.  The tests give you a result in just 30 minutes.  Further information, including FAQs, can be found here.

Have symptoms and need a PCR test?  Further information on both types of tests can be found here.

REMINDER – COVID Test and Trace Support Payment Scheme – Includes eligible parents/guardians

Please be reminded there was a change to this scheme in March as it was extended to parents and guardians who are not legally required to self-isolate, but who need to take time off work to look after a child or young person who is self-isolating.  Applicants will need to satisfy the existing eligibility criteria for the main or discretionary scheme to receive the payment.  Attached is more information.  For residents in Redditch and Bromsgrove, they can find out more at:

Service / Support – Information Updates

  • Herefordshire and Worcestershire Wellbeing and Recovery College – recently this initiative was launched across the county and aims to give people the tools, skills and understanding that they need to drive forward their own wellbeing and recovery journey whilst breaking down the stigmas relating to mental health. Mental illness can affect us all and this college is for everyone whether things have been running smoothly lately or whether the road has been a bumpy.  There are a wide range of courses and workshops designed to take each individual on a journey, however short or long, to find not only new skills, but the knowledge and understanding of what health and wellbeing and recovery means to them.  To find out more visit the website  – https://hwwellbeingandrecoverycollege.org.uk/home
  • Neighbourhood Matters – West Mercia Police is committed to engaging with our communities across Redditch and Bromsgrove to increase trust and confidence and to help us protect people from harm. Our communities are active participants in helping to prevent and detect crime and anti-social behaviour and we know that by working together we can make a real difference.  Public safety, crime prevention and protection of the vulnerable cannot be accomplished by the police alone. It takes effective partnership working and strong community relationships. It is only by the police, our partners and the public working together that we can build resilient and safe communities, and both reduce and prevent crime.  Our Local Policing Charter, launched in March 2021, outlines how we will ensure we provide a visible policing presence and how, using local engagement, social media and new digital channels, we will create further opportunities for dialogue so the public can raise concerns, provide feedback, be involved and help shape policing. Neighbourhood Matters will help us to work with the public and build strong community relationships.

If you sign up to Neighbourhood Matters, you decide who you want to hear from and the type of alerts you want to receive. You’ll be getting information on exactly what’s happening in your area and what is being done about it. You’ll also hear about positive police action, good news stories and be able to play an active part in helping us with our public appeals. Consultations

  • Help shape the future of leisure provision in Bromsgrove and Redditch – Recreation, leisure provision, physical activity, arts, culture, parks and open spaces all make a significant contribution to our quality of life, physical and mental health. This is even more important when considering recovery from the Covid-19 pandemic.  The Council have commissioned ‘Leisure and Cultural Strategies’ to assist in the future planning and development of services and facilities over the next 10 years.  They would like to gather residents’ and visitors’ views to understand what they consider important to current and future provision of:
  • Arts, Culture and Heritage
  • Parks and Green Spaces
  • Physical Activity, Recreation and Exercise

All three Bromsgrove surveys are available here.

The Redditch ones are available here.

If you live in either area or if you travel to either area to use the facilities, parks, engage in arts etc. please fill in the surveys. They take approx. 5 mins each to complete and will help us shape the future of leisure provision in our area.  If you would like to know more about the projects, please email  .  The surveys will close on Wednesday 4 August at 5pm
