M42 junction 6 scheme update

To allow us to continue our work on building the new M42 junction 5a slip roads, we’ll be installing narrow lanes on the M42 in both directions between junctions 5 and 6 from Saturday 18 March to Friday 31 March 2023.

Once installed, the narrow lanes will be in place until spring 2024 and will allow additional space at the side of the motorway to provide a safer working environment for our workforce to:

  • remove vegetation
  • install gantries
  • construct new junction slip roads
  • install the associated technology for the gantries
